I headed back to my office after nearly an hour of fruitless wandering. As I passed the east side of my building, I saw this gentlemen standing enjoying the sunshine with a cigarette. I initially debated whether to approach him or not; I liked his look, that was for sure, but I doubted he would agree to the photo and I was nearly out of time for the day. Obviously, we know what side won that debate.
This is Terry. He was a bit confused at first as to why I wanted to photograph him, saying that he’s “just an old farmer from Saskatchewan.” I explained that I liked his look, and that half my family is from Saskatchewan, which sparked some mutual reminiscing about the province. Terry was outside taking a break from chatting with some lawyers, and I think he appreciated the diversion I offered.
