It had been a long day. I was up early shooting the Easter Seals Drop Zone event, a fundraiser in which individuals rappelled 375 feet off the roof of an office tower in the downtown. We shot all day but finished with the last rappeller a bit earlier than anticipated, so I had some time between the event and the Gala that evening. I hit the street, convincing one of the other photographers to join me. As we walked around, we noticed an unusual number of people dressed all in white. And I mean ALL in white: shoes, pants, belts, shirts, dresses, everything. My fellow photographer remembered that there was an event happening downtown called Dîner en Blanc. It was not too long before an opportunity arose to approach one of these diners.
This is Tasha. She was waiting for her friend and had a few moments to chat and pose. We mostly talked about the event and how she got involved, though I no longer recall the details. Fearing that her time was running short, I posed her and made a few photographs. Offering her a preview on the back of my camera, she commented that she looked worried in the photos, so I offered to do a couple more and this time I think we were both a bit more settled and she gave me this little smile.
